What to include in an interior design proposal

  1. 1

    Project overview

Restate the brief in the client's words: the rooms, the problem to solve and how they want to live in the space. It shows you listened.

  2. 2

    Design concept and visuals

Describe the direction and show it. Mood boards and renders get approvals much faster than a written description alone.

  3. 3

    Scope of work

List every deliverable, from measurement to installation visits. A clear scope is your best protection against scope creep.

  4. 4

    Fees and payment schedule

State the fee structure (fixed, hourly or a percentage of the budget) and tie each payment to a milestone the client can see.

  5. 5

    Timeline

Break the project into phases with durations so the client knows what happens when and what depends on their approvals.

  6. 6

    Terms and acceptance

Cover revisions, what the fee excludes, invoice terms and cancellation, then leave room for both signatures.

Frequently asked questions

Is the proposal generator really free?

Yes. You can create and download as many proposals as you like. We only ask for an email before the first download.

Where is my data stored?

Your text is saved in your own browser so you can come back to it. Images never leave your device; they are only used to build the PDF.

How do I save the proposal as a PDF?

Click Download PDF and choose “Save as PDF” in the print window. This works in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.

Can I add renders of my design?

Yes. Add any image. If you don't have renders yet, MoldaSpace turns a SketchUp screenshot, sketch or photo into a photoreal render in about 30 seconds, with 5 free renders to start.

Which fee structure should I use?

Fixed fees suit well-defined projects, hourly rates suit open-ended work, and a percentage of the budget suits larger projects where you manage procurement.
